Dr. Jacob A. Chávez is the Superintendent of the Cartwright School District, effective April 28, 2011. Dr. Chávez served as Interim Superintendent from January of 2011 until his appointment as Superintendent on April 28, 2011. From 2008-2011, Dr. Chávez was the Assistant Superintendent of Administrative Services for the Cartwright School District. Prior to serving in that capacity, he served for three years as Cartwright School District's Director of Federal Projects and Grant Development. He came to Cartwright District after serving as a principal in the Tempe Elementary School District and as a principal and assistant principal in the Isaac School District. Dr. Chávez currently serves as a member of the School-Based Health Centers Board and the Maryvale Community Council. The Superintendent of Schools is the Chief Executive Officer of the district, responsible for administering the policies of the school district, hiring all personnel and providing the administrative leadership for the operation of schools.

Dr. Rebecca M. Osuna is the Assistant Superintendent for Administrative Services. She joined the Cartwright School District in 2011. Dr. Osuna spent 8 years as a Bilingual Education primary teacher and 17 years as a school administrator, serving as both Principal and Assistant Principal. She received her doctorate from Northern Arizona University in Administrative Leadership and her bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Arizona State University. Dr. Osuna believes parental participation is key when it comes to children succeeding in the classroom. "Parental involvement is important in developing a student who will be successful in life. By building upon the good in people with who we work among and the strengths of the organization, I believe that the educational community will be successful in accomplishing the ultimate goal of student achievement." - Dr. Rebecca Osuna.

Dr. LeeAnn Aguilar Lawlor joined the Cartwright team in February of 2012. She has twenty-nine years in education including serving in three districts as a teacher, assistant principal, principal and currently as an Assistant Superintendent. She served in the United States Air Force Reserves as a Staff Sergeant and was activated during Operation Desert Storm to serve overseas as a medical specialist.

She earned her Bachelors in Education at the University of Arizona, Masters in Educational Leadership at the University of Phoenix and her Doctorate of Education in Leadership and Innovation at Arizona State University. She is married and a proud mother of two amazing children, Gabriela and Maximo. One of her most gratifying experiences was serving as the first principal of Rio Vista School, in the Pendergast School District where she served in this capacity for ten years. In this position, she facilitated a professional learning community of teachers and parent organizations that helped them become a high-achieving school, including earning an "A" rating by the Arizona Department of Education in 2012. As the Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services, she leads the following departments; Language Acquisition, Special Services, Response to Intervention and Accountability, Data Management and Assessment, Professional Learning Communities (PLC) and Science, Engineering, Technology and Math (STEM) and Teaching and Learning.

LeeAnn believes collaborating and ensuring all stakeholders have continuous opportunities to provide input and share ideas is extremely important. She also believes all students are capable of high academic success and our responsibility is to prepare all of our students to be college and career ready.

Zeek Ojeh

Zeek Ojeh joined the Cartwright Executive Team in 2011. He has more than 30 years of experience in a variety of executive positions. In 2010, Arizona's Governor appointed him to serve two terms on the state-wide Arizona Manufactured Housing Board (MHB). In 2012, the Arizona Legislature confirmed his nomination to serve on the Board of Arizona Housing Finance Authority (AzHFA). As the Chief Financial Officer for Cartwright, he is responsible for directing the financial and auxiliary affairs of the district, and managing the following departments: Business Services, Technology, Food Services, Transportation, Buildings and Operations, Energy Education, Federal Programs and Grants and Risk Management. Prior to this position, he was President/CEO of ZKO, Inc., mediator for Maricopa County Justice Courts, a franchisee for Wendy's Hamburger Restaurants and budget officer for the City of Phoenix. He earned a Master's degree in Business Administration from the famed Thunderbird, School of Global Management and a Bachelor's degree in Economics. He's a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), and a Certified Financial Services Auditor (CFSA). Mr. Ojeh believes in giving back and actively participates in community service.

Dr. Edward Murphy joined the Cartwright Team in 2010, having served the Glendale Union High School District for nearly four decades, as a teacher, dean of students, principal, and Human Resources Director. During his tenure as principal, Greenway High School was designated a National Blue Ribbon School, and the Arizona School Personnel Administrators Association named him Personnel Administrator of the Year in 2002. Dr. Murphy holds B.A., M.A., and Ed. D. degrees from Arizona State University. He strongly believes that any organization's people are its most valuable asset.
