2013-14 First Day of School - August 7, 2013

The Cartwright School District believes the Arizona Academic Standards must guide teaching and learning with an emphasis on high expectations for student achievement. Quality instruction, both teacher-directed and student-centered, must be aligned with state standards in order for teachers to accommodate the needs of all students. The delivery of instruction drives academic success when teachers know their learners, know their resources, and know the strategies needed to advance student learning.

 As a
Professional Learning Community it is essential for us to build and maintain a collaborative culture throughout our entire school system.

Schools improve when teachers are given the time and support to work together to clarify essential student learning, develop common assessments for learning, analyze evidence of student learning, and use that evidence to learn from one another.

Educational Services provides professional development, resources and support to schools ensuring high levels of learning for all.

A professional learning community where everyone performs at high levels and all students excel.

The focus of the Instructional Technology Department is to integrate technology while enhancing first, best instruction through collaboration, coaching and professional development.

The Department of Teaching and Learning is committed to improving academic achievement for all students by ensuring a rigorous and relevant curriculum.

The Language Acquisition Department believes that all students have a right to the opportunity to develop full command of the English language and to be provided, at their school, with an English language public education.

The Federal Programs and Grant Development Department focuses on compliance for title funding, supplemental educational services, public school choice and school improvement.

Leadership and School Improvement emphasizes the use of assessment data to improve instruction and educational programs throughout the district.  The department coordinates school and district improvement efforts with state and federal requirements as well as the district assessment program.

Special Services strives to address educating students in the least restrictive environment by providing supplimentary aids and services designed to assist students with disabilities to participate in and experience success in the Cartwright curriculum.
