Please read our Superintendent's letter regarding  Arizona Education Association's (AEA) announcement that teachers will walk off the job Thursday, April 26. The Cartwright School District is currently working on contingency plans for Thursday, April 26th and we will communicate those plans to our parents and staff in the coming days.

Dear Parent/Guardian,

There has been a great deal of media coverage and social media activity about the Arizona Educators United #RedforEd initiative involving teachers and others engaged in activities to bring attention to the issues of low funding for public education.

Per media reports and social media posts, the Arizona Educators United #RedforEd organizers have suggested a potential walkout/strike. In conjunction with Cartwright Education Association leadership we hope to find alternatives that will support our teachers, and avoid disrupting the school day for our students.

In the event we are unable to hold school, we will use all modes of communication to inform our families including our parent auto-dialer system, e-mails, district and school websites, and social media.

Sincerely,

Dr. Jacob A. Chávez Superintendent
