Teacher helps student looking at computer

Some students at Cartwright have already started taking the state assessment known as the AzMERIT. The testing window began March 26th and will continue till May 3rd.

The AzMERIT is a computer-based test, which provides engaging questions and measures critical thinking skills for college and career readiness. AzMERIT is aligned to Arizona’s state learning standards which detail the concepts covered in select courses. The test is designed to measure student mastery of course-specific skills and readiness for college or career. Administrators at Cartwright are hard at work adjusting to AzMERIT assessments and standards to guarantee a better outcome next year.

We want our children to be emotionally and academically ready for anything. Technology plays an important role in that success. More computers and iPads are being distributed to students so they are better prepared for the ever-changing job market. A strong curriculum is supporting that innovation to ensure every child learns and triumphs beyond our middle schools. Those who fall behind, will get hands on help from interventionists. We care about every child and we encourage you to talk to your children about the AzMERIT and how they can improve. Together, we can raise the bar and help our kids do well in school and in life.
