Bustamante
Sonia Bustamante

Sonia Bustamante began her educational career in 1998 after working for fifteen years in the private business sector. She taught 4th and 5th grades in bilingual classrooms in surrounding districts and then she went into an EL Coach position. Sonia went into administration as an Assistant Principal before coming to Cartwright in 2006 as the Assistant Director of Language Acquisition before becoming the Director of Language Acquisition where I still am currently employed.

Before Maggie Brennan came to Cartwright, she taught for ten years in elementary bilingual classrooms and the Gifted Program for Title 1 districts in the Phoenix area. Now in Cartwright, she has proudly served as Assistant Principal for John F. Long Elementary, and in her current position as Assistant Director of Language Acquisition.
Melissa Acevedo

In 2015, Melissa Acevedo started out at John F. Long School as the administrative specialist, but moved to Teaching & Learning in the summer of 2017. As a specialist, she makes sure her department has what it needs to be successful and is instrumental in organizing events, professional development and other activities. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in English from Arizona State University and is currently pursuing a second degree. In her free time, she enjoys pretty florals, reading poetry, and walking her dogs.
Reed
Maryann Reed

Maryann Reed began her education career teaching 5th grade. She taught mainstream and English Learner students in 2nd-6th grade for 16 years before coming an Interventionist and Instructional coach. This is her 3rd year in the Cartwright School District. She was a Reading Interventionist at Frank Borman School for two years before becoming an English Language Development Specialist. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Arizona State University and a Master's Degree in Elementary Education from Northern Arizona University. She enjoys working with students and teachers to achieve their highest potential.
Stefanie Daley

Stefanie Daley began her educational career in 2006 in Detroit, Michigan. She relocated to the Cartwright School District in 2007 where she taught 3rd grade SEI at G. Frank Davidson Elementary School for 7 years, earned her Master's Degree in Educational Leadership and became National Board Certified in English as a New Language for Early to Middle Childhood. She then accepted a position as an ELD Instructional Technology Coach for 2 years before moving on to support a grant at Frank Borman Elementary School, serving as a Verizon Innovative Learning Coach in partnership with Digital Promise to bring always available technology access for our students and parents. She is now returning to Educational Services as a ELD Content Specialist and excited to support teachers and students in the Cartwright community.

Bertha began working in the Cartwright School District in August 1996 as a Bilingual Instructional Assistant at Byron A. Barry School and in September 2003 she joined the team in the Language Acquisition Department where she has been for the last 14 years.

Rosa has been working in the Cartwright School District for 13 years. She started at Borman in May 2004 as a teaching assistant in a part time position. The following year she worked as an administrative assistant where she was responsible for attendance and discipline at the 6th grade center. In January 2010 she moved to the Language Acquisition Department and has since worked there.
