The primary focus of the Financial & Auxiliary Services Departments is to:

  • Provide quality and sound financial management and counsel to our school community
  • Provide quality services, products, and programs
  • Deliver innovative business solutions
  • Provide safe and courteous transportation services to our community
  • Provide safe, healthy, nourishing foods to our community
  • Utilize changing trends in technology to propel this district into the future
  • Use industry best practices to minimize our exposure to loss of district resources
  • Educate our community on the prudent use of limited resources to minimize costs
  • Support our teachers and school administrators in their efforts to improve student achievement

Zeek OjehZeek Ojeh, CPA, MBA
Assistant Superintendent

Zeek Ojeh joined the Cartwright Executive Team in 2011. He has over 30 years of experience in a variety of executive positions. In 2010, Arizona's Governor appointed him to serve two terms on the state-wide Arizona Manufactured Housing Board (MHB). In 2012, the Arizona Legislature confirmed his nomination to serve on the board of Arizona Housing Finance Authority (AzHFA).

As the Chief Financial Officer for Cartwright, he is responsible for directing the financial and auxiliary affairs of the district, and managing the following departments: Business Services, Technology, Food Services, Transportation, Buildings and Operations, Energy Education, Federal Programs and Grants and Risk Management. Prior to this position, he was President/CEO of ZKO, Inc., mediator for Maricopa County Justice Courts, a franchisee for Wendy's Hamburger Restaurants, and budget officer for the City of Phoenix. He earned a Master's degree in Business Administration from the famed Thunderbird, School of Global Management, and a Bachelor's degree in Economics. He's a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), and a Certified Financial Services Auditor (CFSA).

Mr. Ojeh believes in giving back and actively participates in community service.

Dawn MayfieldDawn Mayfield
Executive Coordinator

Dawn Mayfield is the Executive Coordinator for Assistant Superintendent Zeek Ojeh in the Financial & Auxiliary Services Department. Dawn has been with the District since April 2014. She came to Cartwright District from VRide, a commuter vanpool company under contract with Valley Metro. Prior to serving with Valley Metro, Dawn served as an Administrative Assistant for Prometric Testing & Sylvan Learning Center in Goodyear, AZ. Dawn also served as an Administrative Assistant in the US Marine Corps Reserves for 6 years. Dawn has a B.A. in Diversified General Studies from Hope International University in Fullerton, CA.

An Executive Coordinator is the first level of Executive Support for the Financial & Auxiliary Services. Serving as an intermediary and providing assistance to seven departments: Energy Education; Business Services; Safety & Risk Management; Buildings and Operations; Food Services; Technology Support; Federal Services and Grants and Transportation.
